Ladakh camps and rides is one of the oldest design trip of LBR which is still on top demand by the riders around the world and the tour have the credit of having the best feedbacks by our past riders. Camps and Rides as the name suggest is best the way to explore the wilderness of ladakh on Royal Enfield, as earlier we used to host and organise the tour accordingly where we chose our own moving camps reason being not availability of accommodation facilities at the halt locations, we use to move with two backup vehicles, one for bike and one for kitchen & camping, but we always believe that riders need good showers during the tours but we fail to provide in most of the places on our campings. But by coming years due to the growing of more tourism now it makes easy for us to get fixed Camps, Guest house, Hotels, so now we prefer fixed accommodations during the tours. The tour covers some of the very interesting places and from these year onwards we add newly open routes of Pangong , Chushul & Hanle which is a part of border crushing route. Ride goes through world highest pass (Khardong-la) to Hundar and far west to Changthang region towards China border to Pangong & Tsmoriri lake. We have planed the itinerary in such a way that the routes are full of adventures without repeating the single route again, accept 1 hour ride while back from Tsomoriri to Tsokar. Camps and Rides is one of the finest fixed departure tours of LBR which start and ends in Leh.
A short journey of about 1 hour flight from Delhi bring you to the beautiful mountains of Leh (3000 mtr amsl )the basement of our tour, LBR representative will be waiting for you at Kushok Bakula Rinpochey airport Leh for your warm welcome. The representative will further proceed you to the Hotel and drop you with the small tips about getting acclimatize to high altitude, for your adventurous trip.
Lets start a day with a proper briefing about motorcycling on high-altitude mountain roads. Today our ride goes towards North Ladakh to beautiful Nubra Valley which comprises of many small villages and it was also a part of Silk route trade.Double hump camels were a awesome witness in the region. A crazy and twisty roads of Khardongla (world highest motor able road) is the main aim of ride and it would be your highest ride and getting selfi with milestone is the best part of today’s trip. In short it was the more gravel uphill, easy down hill and very short open staring route. Here we skip Hotel & Guesthouses and check for best camp or resort because weather will be perfect for camping in Nubra valley.
Good Morning all! Today we were on the way towards Indo-China Line of actual control to explore world famous Pangong lake. This route is full of adventure via wide open Shayok valley, as we ride on max solid paved roads & sometimes based on temperature rise crossings streams is a part of today’s ride and soon we will be in local restaurant for hot lunch together and pop up throttle again for the beautiful grazing Pangong lake while knocking beautiful views of Durbuk and Tangtsi village. Evening we will be in Camp which is good enough to spent night under brighten stars.
Gear up! Trip kick start along the lake side with the fresh breeze of Pangong lake, We were on the newly open road just next to the Indo - China Line of actual control, this would be the best scenic road with very less explorers and you will be amaze with the awesome views of wild ass. More desert and less patch of metalled roads. Be wild be free would be the word of the day in this route. Some times we add Hanle village as well in the same trip which will be decided on same day as per your riding energy.
We were still in the Nomadic part of Changthang region to explore one more dream lake know as Tsomoriri lake @ 15075 feet above sea level. We were on the tiny highway and soon we reach to the check post where crew will take care of entry of group members,From here the Ride goes towards the heart of Rupshu valley the most isolated part of Ladakh. Left indicator cross us mahe bridge and let us on broken sealed road to the sandy track for the fun part of today's ride. The highly recommended part is, lets race on the finest track where you can make your own road. Reach Tsomoriri / Korzok where most of the villagers live a traditional nomadic life and enjoy these incredible lake.
Lets kick early for a back ride towards network zone (Leh) Riding back from the same route upto Sumdo village and turning left we’ll moving towards Leh, keep the throttle high, up to the Polokongka La, 16207 ft and fun ride began till Leh via beautiful brackish lake called TsoKar (14842 ft), where one really feel, I had a ride of my life. An awesome blend of stark mountain, gorgeous landscape, occasional sightings of the nomadic people and their herds of yaks & goats are common throughout the route. Just after crossing the lake we will be on famous Leh Manali highway and yet still one more pass left to romance through, Taklang-la the second highest motorable pass and by taking not much time with photography we’ll roll down towards Leh crossing through many beautiful small villages and awesome formation of mountains will be in our turning head position and by evening we will be arriving Leh and the evening is celebrated in some of the best restaurant of town.
